Hiring the proper DJ for your reception is crucial to the quality of your event. Here are some questions to ask before making your decision:
Are you Insured?
Many locations require proof of insurance from the entertainment. More often than not, an uninsured DJ will not be allowed to perform. Party All the
Time Productions can provide proof of insurance at all times.
Are you willing to play requests?
A professional DJ will know when to take requests from guests and which songs are appropriate. Party All the Time Productions spends hours
ahead of time working with you on your music selections and time line. We will give you lists of suggestions to choose from and personalize every segment of the night. It’s your
party! We only take requests that are approved by you.
What type of equipment do you use?
It is important to verify that your DJ will be using professional equipment and not a home stereo or an IPOD. Also, make sure that
the DJ has enough music to satisfy all of your guests taste. Party All the Time Productions uses only the latest in mobile DJ technology and back up equipment. We also have over 100,000 songs
to choose from at all times.
What will the DJ wear to the event?
Your DJ should be able to dress the part if you are having a formal occasion. If you are having a formal ceremony and reception,
make sure that the DJ will dress the part. Our DJs are always dressed professionally. Everyone on our staff is a master of ceremonies and has years of experience.
How much time do you need to set up?
Some DJs only require half an hour for set up. Although this might be enough time to throw some equipment together, it does not allow enough time for a proper sound and equipment check.
Party All the Time Productions typically arrives at least an hour ahead of time to ensure that everything is working properly. If necessary, we can show up earlier in the day and return in
time to start the music before your first guest arrives.
Do you have a contract?
Many DJ companies do not use a contract. A contract is essential for everyone involved in the event. You could be left high and dry by a shifty
DJ without one - protect yourself! We document every step of our relationship with a contract, receipts, and invoices.
After choosing the proper DJ, don’t forget to do your part to make the night a success. Here are some tips to help keep the energy up?
Always lead the way.
The attention is on you! If you make a beeline to the dance floor, your guest will be right behind you.
Allow the DJ to do their job.
Don’t stress yourself out trying to pick every song that will be played. Professional DJs will know what songs to play during the night
to keep the energy high. Do provide a list of songs to the DJ and let them play them at the most appropriate time.
Allow the DJ to help you plan the order of events.
DJs that have been in the business for a while know what makes a reception flow smoothly. Once you have given the DJ the specifics of
the event, they should be able to prepare a schedule for the first dance, toast, etc….
Don’t downplay the grand entrance.
It sets the tone for the whole night. Let us help you pick something fun.
Place the DJ is in the right spot.
If possible, place the DJ next to the dance floor. Putting them too far away from the crowd could result in low energy. It is difficult
to read a crowd from a distance. Provide t DJ has enough room to set up their equipment. A 10’ by 10’ area should suffice.
Lighting is important.
Ask what kind of lighting they can provide. A few special effects lights go a long way in creating a fun atmosphere. Also, dimming the regular venue lights encourages guests to participate
during the dance portion of your event.
Relax.
Our on-site coordinator is there to help you stay stress free and enjoy yourself.
